I provide treatment for people who have
workplace accidents, motor vehicle accidents,
sports injuries, repetitive stress injuries, fibromyalgia, neuropathies and other chronic
pain problems. I also help condition people who
participate in triathlons, bike races, soccer
and other organized sports. I provide treatment
and conditioning for all general athletes (you
know who you are), and the many people who spend
way too much time at their computer (you, too,
know who you are!). I also enjoy providing
relaxation and pregnancy massage. My oldest
client was 102 years old and my youngest was 5
months old. I am grateful that I have treated
many people in my practice that have given me
the opportunity to learn from. I consider this a
gift to pass on to others in my path. I pride
myself with working with people as individuals.
I think that it is too easy to put people and
their symptoms in a box and miss something very
different that could help them. I have been
trained in a variety of massage techniques, such
as:
- Neuromuscular Therapy - These
techniques treat highly specific areas of
muscle and tendons.
- Medical Massage - Again, very
specific work, on common injuries and
chronic pain treatments. Whiplash, Chronic
Low Back pain, Shoulder, upper back and neck
pain.
- Myofascial Release - This technique done without
lotion or oil looks to release the fascia (the
covering) that surrounds muscle.
- Deep tissue -
Deep compressive strokes to specific muscle
groups.
- Trigger/Tender Points - Congested
adhered areas of the muscle that elicit referred
pain and/or pain at that site.
- Swedish massage
- This is the smooth, gliding, kneading strokes
that is incorporated throughout my massage.
-
Pregnancy Massage - This
massage looks to relax, reduce stress,
promote circulation, reduce swelling,
improve physiological functioning, and
reduce musculoskeletal strain and pain.

Just a little about me: I have been
practicing massage therapy since February of
1998. I graduated Seattle Massage School (now Ashmead College) with honors and top in my
class. In my final semester, I did a residency
program at Stevens Hospital in Edmonds, where I
worked with patients in various states, such as:
surgeries, cancer, chronic pulmonary disease,
and pregnancies. Fresh out of school, I
volunteered massage for six months at the
Northwest Aids Foundation. I took two years to
work primarily with elders, which meant working
with: hip replacements, strokes, surgeries,
cancer, diabetes, emphysema, Parkinsons,
dementia and a variety of other situations. I
worked with a chiropractor in Redmond since
December of 1999, where I treated many people
with auto and workplace accidents. I also worked
with people who had chronic pain problems,
sports conditioning and general wellness
massage. I am certified with the National
Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and
Bodywork. I am a professional member of the
American Massage Therapy Association. I
currently have a black belt in Aikido. I enjoy
practicing regularly at Aikido Academy for
Children and Adults in Redmond. I am also an
assistant instructor. I practice Iyengar yoga at
the Yoga Centers in Bellevue and take
aerobic/strength training classes with my
favorite instructor Lisa Flaherty. I love to
hike, bicycle ride, watch movies, read, and
relax with the people I love.
